April 2026

Candace Couse is the curator of Unsilenced Stories: Art as Witness in Health Research, a juried exhibition presented by the Canadian Association for Health Humanities (CAHH) in partnership with SAW Gallery. Held at Club SAW in Ottawa as part of the Creating Space 2026 national conference, the project features contemporary artists whose work critically engages with health, illness, healing, and systemic inequities. In addition to the physical exhibition, Couse is shaping a permanent, publicly accessible digital archive that preserves selected works as a resource for interdisciplinary research, education, and networking within the health humanities. The project is supported by SSHRC Explore and Exchange grants from the University of the Fraser Valley and Mount Saint Vincent University. Call for artists closes Feb 28: https://www.cahh.ca/unsilenced-stories
